Location This position can be located on the Moorhead, Fergus Falls, or Wadena campus of M State. The Academic Operations Coordinator serves as a direct support for the Academic Deans in their day-to-day activities, with an emphasis on leading and supporting course scheduling, supporting the development of academic curricula, coordinating course surveys and evaluations, leading the program review process, evaluating the programmatic efficiency process, leading the faculty orientation and onboarding process, and providing support for programmatic accreditation in collaboration with institutional effectiveness. This position reports directly to the college Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs and may be assigned other duties to support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the academic affairs division. On a daily basis, live the mission, vision and values of M State to ensure a positive experience for all students and stakeholders. Service to M State students and stakeholders is a core component of the position and work responsibilities. Responsible for overall direction and planning of the academic course schedule, providing expertise and consultation to Academic Deans to ensure the course schedule meets the needs of students and the goals of the college. Assist the Academic Deans and the deans assistants with course scheduling that meets the needs of the students while managing faculty credit loads with fiscal responsibility. Develop recommendations for any needed changes based on historic and projected enrollments to the Academic Deans and the Provost/VP of Academic Affairs. Ensure compliance and alignment of courses and programs with the College and Minnesota State policy by attending Academic Affairs & Standards Council (AASC) and other curriculum meetings as needed. Supports the development of the academic curriculum. Conducts needs assessment, competitive market analysis, labor market/employment analysis enrollment projections, and resource estimates for proposed new programs. Assists departments with plans to analyze the viability of new programs. Advises faculty, staff, Academic Deans, and Provost/VP of Academic Affairs on complex curricular issues and recommends courses of action when new courses and programs are introduced. Utilizing extensive knowledge of curriculum design, assists as needed with new course approval and curriculum revisions. Regularly review the academic Program Inventory for accuracy. Monitor trends in student and employer demand. Onboarding, support, and programmatic analysis. Facilitate the college-wide coordination of professional development programming and training for faculty. Lead and coordinate faculty onboarding in partnership with Center for Teaching and Learning (CTLT) and Academic Deans. Collaborate with Academic Deans to coordinate with faculty on the program review and assessment outcomes. Monitor, analyze, and report on program efficiency data. Attend and participate in program advisory board meetings as appropriate. Support Academic Deans and their assistants with course surveys and course evaluations of instructional staff. Leadership. Work collaboratively with the Provost, Academic Deans, student affairs deans/directors, faculty, and staff to implement College initiatives and College goals to support student, College, and community success. Lead, coordinate, and chair the Student and Academic Affairs Appeal Committee. Participate in College planning and budgeting processes. Fully understand and uphold applicable labor contracts and/or plans fairly and equitably and in accordance with statewide employer policy. Support for campus and college operations. Recognition of broad and varied professional responsibilities which include but are not limited to support for campus and college operations such as: front desk coverage, registration events, Spartan Welcome Days, Commencement, this is not an exhaustive list. Support the operation of college and campus Student Services operational area(s) beyond the Student Affairs office. Serve on campus, college and community committees as assigned, approved and appropriate that seek to enhance the student experience. Other related duties as assigned by the President and/or Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs, as needed for the benefit of students and the college.
