Job Title: Shipping Specialist

Job Description

Responsible for a variety of duties related to shipping, receiving, and inspecting materials. Assembles and checks shipments for correctness of items and quantities. Receives shipments and verifies the correctness of shipments received against bills of lading, invoices, and other records. Routes incoming goods to proper departments or stock room.

– Load and unload material from trucks and/or vans using a lift truck, manual jack, or dolly.
– Operate trailer restraints, dock plates, overhead doors, banding, and wrapping equipment.
– Utilize MRP system (PLEX), and RF technology to transact the movement of inventory.
– Deliver raw materials, including steel coils, to production areas.
– Collect loads of finished goods from production areas.
– Weigh and count finished goods using computerized scale.
– Deliver MRO type items if needed (skids, cartons, labels, etc.)
– Prepare finished loads for shipment, including labeling, wrapping, banding, and staging.
– Operate packaging machine, box erector and other related equipment.
– Store materials in a neat and orderly fashion in the warehouse.
– Assist in housekeeping for warehouse areas including, inside and outside dock areas.
– Assist in inventory counts and physical inventory if needed.
– Ensure correct labeling, packaging, and inventory.
– Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
– Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
– Inspect lift truck at start of shift and perform general shift maintenance.
– Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures.
– Follow all department and corporate policies and procedures.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Work Environment

Very clean facility. Plastic injection mold area and punch press area. Separate building for assembly and warehouse is being moved across the street. Punch presses consistently running, so loud environment.
