Seasonal Coordinator

The Salvation Army

The Seasonal Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the Christmas Programs for The Salvation Armys Chartiers Valley Service Center which include the Red Kettle Campaign, Angel Tree, Adopt-a-Family, Sheetz for the Kidz, and Food Pantry Distributions.

· Red Kettle Campaign — Coordination of kettle sites during the Christmas season and secure adequate volunteers to cover the kettles. Make bank deposits. Manager the kettle logistics of pick-up/take down of kettle stands. Enter all volunteer and financial information into the Register to Ring software platform

Christmas assistance applications – Accept applications and qualify local families and individuals for Christmas assistance for Adopt a Family, Angel Tree and Sheetz for the Kidz

Distribution Days – Work in cooperation with staff and the Advisory Board Members to manage Christmas toy and food distributions. This will include the Sheetz for Kidz party.

Food Pantry- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly food pantry operations. Ordering food, coordinating deliveries, managing volunteers. Coordinate two food distributions in December. In addition, will coordinate local holiday food drives. The pantry area must also be ready to receive large amounts of toys for distribution.

Center Support- includes reporting and statistics collection. Maintaining a neat and safe space. Completing other center duties is essential to the Christmas programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

– Must be organized and pay attention to detail.
– Computer skills
– Must be a self-starter and work well independently and as part of a team.
– Must be able to lift 35 pounds repetitively.
– Must be trustworthy and dependable.
– Must relate and respond well to clients, volunteers, other employees, and management.
– Must have a valid drivers license.
– All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
– PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Armys KeepSAfe training required

Education and Experience:

High School Graduate or GED
