This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Who We Are
HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer at our Virginia Beach, VA. location. This role will allow for relocation assistance to be provided to the selected candidate who does not reside within the state. You also must have an active TS/SCI clearance for this role.
The Network Engineer will serve as the lead expert within the organization on network enhancements from both an infrastructure and hardware standpoint. This individual will work closely with the customer to provide experience-based technical expertise and recommendations.
This group helps provide technical expertise in support of 24/7/365 watch-standing duties. Your team members may troubleshoot system outages; correlate with various agencies to maximize circuit readiness and minimize downtime.
What You Will Do
Designs and plans network systems.
Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Conducts testing of network systems.
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
What We Are Looking For
2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Experience or knowledge with the following:
MECM, STIGs, ACAS, Cybersecurity Engineer, Palo Alto, Virtual Desktops, ACLs, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), OSPF, Network Security, VMWare, Active Directory, Network Infrastructure, Layer 3, VoIP, Linux, Cisco ISE, AAA, IPSec, Radius/TACACS, TCP/IP, VRRP, CCNA, CCNP, vSAN, Servers, Technical Support, Visio, Disaster Recovery, and VLANs.
Must have the following active certifications: Security and one of the following: Linux CCNA, or VCP – XX.
Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
