What Youll Do:

As a logistics coordinator, you will help coordinate, manage, and direct railcar, barge, and vessel shipments of our scrap metal. We are looking for someone with logistics experience, strong attention to detail, and can think quickly on their feet.

Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Attend safety meetings and participate in safety program.

Responsible for managing import container inventory on an ongoing basis

Schedule container bookings with 3rd party transportation companies

Communicating proper documentation to container broker and trucking companies

Administer, review, and monitor contracts.

Calculate payment amount, prepare and issue payment to commercial customers, ACH customers and third-party freight reconciliation.

Manage railcar status of cars within the facility to maximize in plant turn times (i.e. bad orders, load & holds)

General daily reporting and distribution as required by business unit

Work directly with multiple customer contacts and 3rd party vendors within the overall supply chain

Work with Accounting to ensure accurate billing and collect on past due accounts.

Using Excel to track and monitor container shipments

Prepare, verify and distribute various reports (i.e. records tonnage and shrink of product loaded in containers, number of railcars used by customers per month, revenue, storage, and other expenses; performance reports).

Work with other departments to ensure daily, weekly and monthly administrative duties for your group of yards is completed in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to: adequate coverage levels for positions, ticket issues, running reports, etc.

Crosstrain in Scale Operator and Cashier positions for back-up and vacation coverage and assist other employees as needed.

Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What Youll Need:

Two years of logistics experience preferred but not required.

Position demands an energetic, well-organized individual who is adaptable to changing assignments and priorities; works well under pressure and prefers a fast-paced work environment.

Exhibits independent thinking skills, initiative, and ability to work with general direction and perform work with a high degree of accuracy.

Exceptional customer service orientation able to interface effectively with company personnel, customers, and vendors.

Keen attention to detail and ability to conduct data analysis, advanced knowledge of Excel preferred, intermediate knowledge required.

Excellent knowledge of technology as it applies to administrative tasks, willingness to learn proprietary software.

PC skills in word processing, spreadsheets (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook preferred), and database experience a plus.

Some travel required (15%).

Computer experience, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and the ability to learn in house systems.

Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Flexible to work overtime, off-hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.

Bilingual preferred.

Candidates within a 50-mile radius of facility preferred.
