Job Description:

The Buyer sources and purchases mechanical and electro-mechanical parts, machinery, equipment, tools, raw material and packaging materials from manufacturers necessary for operation of an organization.

Compiles and analyses statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyses suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, places orders, analyses trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment and maintains necessary records. Prepares bid packages.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

2 years or more experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

2 years or more experience in negotiations

2 years or more experience in the procurement of mechanical and electro-mechanical commodities.

2 years or more experience in the field and will represent the organization as the prime contact on a project or program.

2 years or more experience in a real time MRP environment.
