SCHEDULE
FTE: 1.0 (40 hours), 1st shift, occasional nights and weekends
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Provides community outreach services to enhance and promote the image of Waverly Health Center in the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Outreach Programming
Works with Director to develop and implement community outreach objectives to help the organization meet its strategic goals.
Coordinates and promotes Speakers Series, health fairs, support groups, health screens, community displays and other community programs.
Public Relations and Promotion
Assists in development of annual and strategic marketing plans.
Plans promotion of activities and services through press releases, ads, social media, the website and participation in community activities.
Promotes positive and competitive health center image.
Takes photos and videos for hospital use.
Prepares written correspondence and writes copy for marketing communications.
Develops, produces and distributes public relations and marketing materials.
Uses metrics to determine effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Digital Media
Plans and coordinates social media activities.
Plans and coordinates video production.
Patient Education
Facilitates patient and community education handout development, revision and distribution process.
Works with staff to create handouts utilizing plain language principles.
Senior Health Insurance Information Program
Serves as health center coordinator for Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP).
Employee Volunteerism and Advocacy
Encourages, creates, and promotes employee volunteerism, advocacy and community service projects.
Program and Services Administration
Coordinates community benefits tracking and reporting.
Coordinates Community Health Needs Assessment.
Maintains files and documents processes for all activities, publications and processes.
Keeps informed of new practices and trends affecting health care and community outreach needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience, and Training
Must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Community Wellness or other related field.
Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including online training modules, employee timesheet and performance appraisal systems. In addition, graphic design skills/training using Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
Event planning experience preferred.
Must possess the ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
Physical Requirements
Sitting – Approximately 50% of shift.
Standing– Approximately 25% of shift.
Walking – Approximately 25% of shift.
Lifting – Approximately 25 pounds.
Twisting – Infrequent.
Bending – Infrequent.
Squat/Kneel – Not a requirement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
May come in contact with hazardous chemicals or treatment modalities.
The possibility exists of exposure to communicable disease due to working in a healthcare environment.
Involvement in patient care may result in unavoidable work-related illnesses.
