What’s the job?

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for managing the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work to include developing, scheduling, optimizing, analyzing, and closure of work orders of all types.

The objective is the planning of all resources to insure safe and efficient execution of all scheduled maintenance work, thus keeping plant equipment in condition to deliver full design capacity and reliability, optimizing assets profitability for the life of the organization.

A major part of this is maintaining an efficient preventive maintenance program. Works closely with all members of the maintenance team in achieving these objectives. This person will be responsible for cataloging the maintenance spares; managing the work order system; managing the tasking entry into the CMMS and setting the system up to maintain accurate equipment history.

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm.

Your Day To Day

Responsible for identifying the elements of an executable work package that should contain the work plan, the necessary materials, tools, and permits, and labor requirements prior to passing the work on to scheduling.

Creates effective and sequenced work plans, maintenance, and reliability strategies to effectively execute required work to ensure asset health and overall production quality.

Plans the execution of routine and non-routine repair procedures and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with the fundamental plant maintenance procedures and practices.

Will be the principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance, Operations, and other supported departments. In this capacity, the planner ensures that all internal beneficiaries of Maintenance receive timely, efficient, and quality service.

Is responsible for long-range as well as short-range planning.

Reviews approved work notifications through the CMMS to ensure requests meet minimum requirements of a work order to initiate work plans.

Provides detailed work plans on documented work orders as required on all non-urgent maintenance activities including but not limited to Preventative Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Corrective Maintenance (CM).

Coordinates with Purchasing and Stores to order and reserve materials. Develop and maintain the kitted area, to identify and stage parts required for upcoming Maintenance scheduled work.

Assures good housekeeping practices (5S) through auditing, enforces plant rules and safety regulations. Support and contribute to continuous Improvement projects and initiatives.

Maintains job plan libraries to support required non-routine work, projects, and overhauls via the CMMS.

Maintains equipment files and databases for most up to date equipment details and efficient work execution. Create and maintain good Plant equipment data, Spec sheets, Data Sheets, and general equipment information. Keep Current and updated list of users and equipment within the CMMS.

Provides vacation relief for maintenance management as required, for meetings, events and other activities.

Follow-up with technicians to discuss workorders completion, material needs, necessary scheduling changes and provide feedback on the general state of pending orders and tasks.

Performs other related duties and responsibilities as needed and / or requested by management.

What Do You Bring to the Team?

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or minimum five (5) years of equivalent training and experience.

Some electrical and some mechanical expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving.

Possesses strong interpersonal skills.

Effective verbal and written communication ability.

Possess strong organizational skills and work habits.

Proficient with computers/tablets and computer software (Microsoft Office suite, SAP, etc.).

Previous experience with a CMMS (Maximo, SAP Plant Maintenance, etc.).

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135,740.
