Responsibilities:

• Coordinate inbound/ outbound mail and packages to prevent co-mingling of client mail.• Manage receiving of mail at screening facility and ensure all inbound items are bagged and secured prior to bringing inside building.• Visually inspect all inbound pieces in an effort to identify suspicious items.• Screen all mail pieces and parcels entering facility.• Inspect packages using x-ray viewing equipment to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation• Test packages for any threats, using equipment such as explosive detection machines or biological/ chemical detection systems• Recognize and isolate suspicious mail/parcels for further investigation.• If suspicious items are encountered, safeguard and ensure emergency procedures and notifications are followed.• Ensure safe screening processes are followed in execution of duties.• Ensure engineering controls are maintained and followed.• Ability to perform all functions of subordinate staff.• Ensure services are executed timely and accurately.• Oversee work procedures, determine work schedules to expedite workflow.• Stage processed mail and assist in loading onto vehicle for departure.• Record volume, arrival, processing and departure time of items.• Operate office services and warehouse equipment.• Oversee and maintain consumables and supplies• Provide assistance and support to Site Screening Supervisor for all administrative, reporting and operating functions.• Work to ensure compliance with existing systems and controls.• Responds to all issues and inquiries and ensures appropriate escalation processes are followed by communicating critical issues to Site Screening Supervisor without delay.• Maintain inventory of equipment and consumables.• Ensure work area is clean and ensure site cleanliness at end of the day.• Ensure all vehicles are maintained and in good working order.• Drive company vehicle when required.• Consistently demonstrates professional demeanor, appearance and attitude. • Must demonstrate leadership qualities while resolving interpersonal conflicts and nurturing team work among the team.• Proven ability to remain calm under pressure; resilient. • Ability to appropriately handle confidential and highly sensitive information• Coordinate staff route assignments• Ensure all mail has been processed and staged for return delibery• Flexibility to work early hours, evenings or weekends as needed.• Maintain, review and update site operations manual.• Maintain records and files.• Perform new employee orientation, prepare performance appraisals and evaluate employee performance.• Collect data for reports and help prepare monthly reports.• Maintain monthly volume metrics and billing.• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Possess some college, degree preferred.• Possess Five (5) years mail/ parcel screening or 5 years of warehouse experience or• Prior law enforcement, military or supervisory experience: with TSA or mail screening background, X-Ray mail screening certified, intermediate to advanced CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive) knowledge. • Attention to detail.• Ability to effectively supervise staff.• Ability to demonstrate a high level of problem solving skills.• Assertive and resourceful; self motivated; and able to take initiative to communicate clearly.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Must have valid drivers license, clean driving record.• A team player who possesses customer focus skills.
