Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. This position will assist in all phases of maintenance operations. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Property Manager and takes direction from the Maintenance Supervisor as assigned. This position will maintain working relationships with all other staff members, vendors, contractors, construction personnel; will maintain positive relationships with all current and prospective residents.

Hard Skills

Minimum three (3) years full time maintenance experience

Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and heating systems

Soft Skills

Willingness to perform all assigned tasks with good work and safety habits

Strong teamwork skills

Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level

Willing to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to solve problems involving residents, emergency situations, etc.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Buffalo, New York.

Work Environment

This position would be split between two properties Loudon House (24 units) and Hearthstone Village (144 units). This candidate would be the sole maintenance person at Loudon House, directly responsible for work orders, curb appeal, cleanliness, apartment turns (as needed), trash and recycling, and maintenance emergency on-call. For Hearthstone Village, this candidate would report to the Maintenance Supervisor and assist on work orders, apartment turns, cleaning, general maintenance, etc. Pay: $20-$23 per hour. Shift: 8AM-4:30PM. Minimum forty hours per week; additional hours as required. Regular schedule to be consistent with established hours of operation. Salary commensurate with level of experience and job requirements. Paid sick, personal, and vacation time as outlined in the employee manual. A portion of the single health insurance premium paid towards employee health insurance. Additional benefits offered to full-time employees as outlined in the employee benefit booklet. Reasonable business expenses to be paid/reimbursed within the scope of performing routine necessary business.
