Laboratory Technician II

Safety-Kleen Newark, CA is looking for a Laboratory Technician II to join their safety-conscious team. Responsibilities are, but not limited to the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. This position will help support our re-refinery operation

Wage: $30hr

Performs analysis of facility samples using GC/GCMS, ICP, General Chemistry and other analytical laboratory instruments

Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed

Properly manage waste generated because of analytical procedures

Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all applicable OSHA regulations

Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred

3 years’ experience operating GC/GCMS, ICP and General Chemistry instrumentation preferred

3 years of professional experience in a lab preferred

Wet chemistry and sample prep a plus!

Familiarity with instrumentation software

Ability to document, record, and analyze data accurately

MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Computer savvy

Must have excellent communication and organization skills

Able to work independently and in a team

Must be able to lift to 50lbs, bend, stoop, crouch, climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.
