Position Summary:
The Climatic Chassis Dynamometer (CCD) Test Engineer will work at PACCARs Engine Test Laboratory (ETL) in Mount Vernon, Washington.
Key responsibilities include running and managing CCD testing activities for internal and external customers as well as serving as a leader and mentor for technical staff.
This engineer will work in the CCD testing and validating PACCAR powertrain systems.

Division Information
The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions ofPACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the SkagitValley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.
Job Functions / Responsibilities:
Conduct performance, durability, and emissions testing of heavy-duty diesel along with battery electric powertrain systems to support program goals of European and North American PACCAR divisions
Support PACCARs organizations by testing and validating new engine, aftertreatment, and battery electric vehicles hardware and software.
Mentor CCD technical staff about cell and engine operation, emissions measurement practices, data analysis, and quality validation
Identify and implement processes to improve the quality and efficiency of powertrain testing, emissions measurement, and data processing in the CCD
Work with CCD team to perform facility and software upgrades for compliance with 40 CFR Part 1066
Support PACCARs organizations by supplying and improving the testing tools used for calibrating, evaluating, and validating new engine and aftertreatment hardware and software
Identify and implement processes to improve the quality and efficiency of powertrain testing, and data processing in the CCD
Improve existing test protocols to increase automation and test cell utilization
Develop methods to align test protocol, data processing tools and testing methods
Required Qualifications & Skills (Includes Education)
BS degree in engineering
Minimum 3 years work experience performing powertrain testing
Knowledge of diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment system operation
Ability to work with CCD and ETL technician staff, fostering teamwork and employee development
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Test cell experience performing heavy-duty on-highway engine development
Proficiency using AVL test cell automation systems and data analysis (PUMA and CONCERTO)
Minimum 5 years work experience performing powertrain testing
Experience with PACCAR engine and aftertreatment development tools (ATI Vision)
Working knowledge of PACCAR products
Mechanical aptitude and experience
