Requisition Summary
PACCAR Technical Center (PTC) Vehicle Systems Validation team works to ensure proper structural validation for PACCAR truck development programs. The team uses PTCs state-of-the-art testing facility to make sure Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks are production ready. This Technicians main task will be to provide test specimen instrumentation and electronic controller set up. This position will also provide support for setup of hydraulic system to support testing.

Division Information
The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Specify calibrate and install transducers including accelerometers, strain gauges, deflection transducers, thermocouples, and pressure transducers, and data acquisition equipment.
Configure and operate data acquisition test control software.
Setup and run data acquisition hardware necessary for component testing.
Work in teams to complete mechanical setup of test stands, including electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic hookups.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and basic organization in the lab.
Flexible and willing to adapt to changing duties and activities.
Coordinate equipment repairs and calibrations performed by outside vendors.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Data Acquisition hardware and software including DEWESoft or National Instruments.
Knowledge of AC/DC electronics, Wheatstone Bridge theory, basic electrical circuitry, and closed-loop PID control principles.
Experience with structural test equipment including pneumatic and hydraulic actuators.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and software programmers such as Do-more Controller Programmer, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent “ladder logic” software.
Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.
Strong mathematical skills, basic knowledge of general mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic practices.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings of equipment, test fixtures, and assemblies.
5 years of experience working with and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
Education
Associates degree in a related Technology or equivalent work experience
