US Coast Guard Nonappropriated Funds - NAF

DUTIES :
Performs accounting support work to maintain an assigned area of journals and ledgers; Assist with all aspects of accounting functions to include data entry, various GL account and bank reconciliations, journal entries, AP and AR reimbursements.

[Performs accounts receivable and accounts payable entries and collections, issues payments, and provides other essential accounting functions.

Examines, verifies, and analyzes a variety of documents to determine their mathematical correctness, validity, and clerical accuracy; maintains files of all correspondence pertaining to financial records and accounting. Maintains open lines of communication with internal and external customers.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
Minimum:
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. One year of experience, which demonstrates proficiency in accounting clerical methods and techniques.
3. Experience in Microsoft Office with basic Excel experience.
4. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.

Preferred (in addition to the minimum):
1. Completion of basic accounting course(s).
2. Two years of accounting clerk experience.
