Lumos is looking for a full-time Director of PR! If you are a PR or media relations professional whos excited for a fast-paced experience, ready to help us grow, and ready to recommend process changes that ensure were harnessing our technology to the best of our ability while broadening our scope doing strengthening Lumoss media relationships and public image. With a proven record of accomplishment in establishing relationships with a variety of media channels and corporate communications (including crisis management), this person will help us build trust and foster positive perceptions in our markets.

Essential Functions
– Develop and implement PR strategies to enhance brand image and public perception.
– Oversee media relations: writing press releases, managing media inquiries, and organizing press conferences.
– Build and maintain positive relationships with journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders.
– Monitor and manage Lumoss reputation across traditional and social media platforms.
– Lead crisis communication efforts by preparing and delivering timely, effective responses.
– Analyze PR campaign performance, provide reports, and recommend improvements.
– Manage external agencies and vendors, ensuring alignment with Lumos objectives and goals.
– Stay informed on industry trends and news to keep company communications relevant and proactive.
– Create compelling content for various platforms, including blogs, social media, and internal newsletters.
– Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and senior management, to align PR efforts with business goals.
– Support internal and external corporate communications needs of the business. Serve as a communications partner with other func ional leaders on important initiatives. Act as an editor for various internal content, including emails and customer notifications.
– Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
– 10 years community, communications leadership experience, including being able to inspire and bring out the best in agency and cross-functional teams.
– Expert understanding of building communications anchored in our purpose, employing effective tools to drive business outcomes.
– Proven results and credibility across owned and earned media channels.
– Fluency in digital marketing, including a clear understanding of digital channels, social media, content, etc. Understanding of the interplay between brand and performance marketing and how to best leverage across channels.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to field questions from media outlets with credibility and confidence.
– Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, including quickly and accurately assessing opportunities to determine the best approach.
Other Experience and Requirements
– Bachelors degree in Marketing
, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations.
– Curious, passionate, servant leader mindset who is adaptable, resilient, and focused.
– Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills in interactions at all levels, internal and external to the company.
– Comfortable and productive in a virtual working environment.
– Able to travel moderately as the demands of the job require.
– Fiber or Telecom industry experience preferred.
