Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all therapy and related activities including clinical supervision,
programming, policies, case management, education, treatment planning, patient outcomes/satisfaction and
discharge planning in compliance with program, state, federal and regulatory compliance guidelines. Ensures that
program initiatives are achieved through promoting multidisciplinary teamwork, promoting internal and external
customer satisfaction, and appropriate resource allocation.

· Demonstrates advanced clinical skills and ability to plan and facilitate individual, group and family psychoeducational and process groups
· Identifies cultural considerations, gender identity and preferred language for patients and family
· Demonstrates advance practice in assessments, group notes and all other documentation timely and in compliance with requirements (as appropriate to scope)
· Continuously assesses environment and patient’s safety status and reports/responds to actual and potential safety issues or changes in the patients condition
· Identifies risk factors, screening criteria and interventions for patients with special precautions (e.g., suicide, homicide, falls, elopement)
· Recognizes and acts upon unexpected assessment findings
· Develops treatment plans, attends and leads (as appropriate) treatment planning meetings and reviews on an ongoing basis. Ensures timeliness and thoroughness of treatment planning documentation and attendance.
· Responsible for ensuring a safe structured milieu with evidence based treatment modalities/resources
· Maintains active and timely communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary team and continuum of care providers. Addresses any communication related issues as appropriate.
· Provides education and guidance regarding state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, duty to warn and guardianship processes.
· Assesses, collaborates, coordinates and provides guidance on complex discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with the multidisciplinary team.
· Develops and maintains a community resource guide including access to public assistance/alternatives.
· Coordinates and participates in Community Education, Activities and Support Groups (as appropriate to scope)
· Conducts post-discharge follow-up if indicated
· Develops Process and Quality Improvement initiatives appropriate to department
· Ensures delivery patient care based on accepted standards of care
· Demonstrates appropriate application of age/developmental stage specific standards, policies and procedures, and guidelines in assessing and treating patients to ensure patient safety.
· Maintains professionalism and uses good communication skills in interacting with peers, staff, patients, families and in resolving conflicts.
· Demonstrates understanding of and ability to maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients and families.
· Demonstrates knowledge and role in hospital codes
· Follows all hospital policies and procedures
· Serves as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and other parties as appropriate regarding behavioral services
· Performs utilization review as assigned
· Develops department goals/objectives and clinical programming
· Reviews, coaches and ensures the training of new staff/interns as assigned within approved practice and program guidelines.
· Maintains data integrity through auditing to ensure accuracy
· Oversees staff provision of care and services
· Accountable for departmental operational budget inclusive of staffing productivity, scheduling, billing and supply management, and utilizing management as applicable
· Responsible for appropriate disciplinary action of staff members in collaboration with HR. Effectively interviews and selects qualified personnel as required to meet departmental objectives.
· Provides initial and ongoing performance review/development of assigned personnel including development opportunities. When delegating competency assessment activities, utilizes appropriate and regular oversight.
· Establishes and maintains relationships with academic partners and hospital education resources for extern/intern opportunities, orientation, onboarding and supervision.
· May provide clinical supervision of others towards advanced licensure [local facility decision]

Education & Experience:
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Required
