Job Overview:
As a Food Runner, you’ll be responsible for the forefront of Resident interaction with the dining program for the community, from daily operation of the restaurant and bar to catering and special events. The Server will be responsible for taking orders and delivering food and drinks, answering questions regarding menu and drink selections, work closely with wait, bar staff and kitchen to ensure the restaurant is operated efficiently.
Your Responsibilities:
Prepare restaurant for lunch / dining by setting decorations, condiments, napkins and utensils.
Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies.
Must be able to explain the chefs specialties; identify appropriate wines; answer food preparation questions.
Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording Resident choices, identifying Resident special dietary needs and special requests.
Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing dining process.
Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bills; accepting payment; returning credit card and signature slip to Resident.
Other duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
GED or High School Diploma
At least 1 year kitchen experience
Excellent verbal communication skills required.
Knowledgeable of proper food handling procedures
Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs.
Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time.
Reach with hands and arms.
Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word.
Schedule: Variable (weekend availability required)

Compensation: $16,00 Hourly
