As a DSP, you will have the privilege of working directly with people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. In this role, you will be actively providing encouragement, mentoring and coaching with the goal of successfully assisting those in which you support. DSPs are depended on to assist with lifes essential activities, that include but are not limited to: getting out of bed, getting dressed, going to the bathroom, finding a job, going to appointments, shopping, etc. The role of a DSP is to support-helping people learn, identify and explore their independence!

DSPs provide support and guidance in all aspects of daily life. This can vary depending on the site and time of day but generally includes appointments, shopping, attending community activities, medication administration, meal preparation, recreation activities and cleaning.

DSPs conduct group activities in both program/site-based and community-based settings and work to meet the goals and supports of the people receiving services.

Specific, set schedules- you know when youll be expected to work for convenient planning. Days, Evenings, Overnights and Weekend shifts available.

Monday thru Friday schedules 8am-3:30pm

Position Requirements:

18 years of age or older

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid NYS drivers license
