Data Coordinator
Purpose of the position
The Data Coordinator works with EOs program teams to assist them as they collect, maintain, analyze, and report data. The Data Coordinator will support the Director of Research Data Analytics in developing, maintaining, and analyzing project data and preparing reports. The project data span topics across EOs cradle to career continuum, including early childhood education, youth mental health, and the emerging workforce. This role requires quick learning, effective teamwork, and strong communication skills to collaborate with both internal teams and community members.
Essential functions
– Working with the Director of Research Data Analytics, design and implement data collection procedures to evaluate program performance and outcomes
– Support program teams in regular updates and maintenance of project datasets, ensuring data is complete and accurate
– Develop summary reports for projects
– Conduct literature reviews and support the preparation of research reports
– Work with community partners to implement and evaluate various initiatives
– Collaborate with team members and community partners to meet deadlines
Competencies
– Prior research and/or data management experience
– Computer proficiency and experience: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
– Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about a wide variety of topics
– Organized and detail-oriented
– Strong commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality of information
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Enjoy working independently and as part of a team
– Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Work environment
This position is based in the Abingdon, Virginia office.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position type and expected hours of work
Employee should be able to work core hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional meetings, events, and possible emergencies outside of core hours.
Travel required
The ideal candidate will reside in the EO service area and be available to attend early morning, evening, and/or weekend meetings and should be able to travel independently where needed.
Certificates, licenses, registrations required
– Valid drivers license and automobile insurance
– Reliable high-speed home internet.
Required education and experience
– Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university
– Must demonstrate ability to learn quickly
Preferred education and experience
– Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis
