JOB SUMMARY
Sr. Platform Engineer, Kubernetes will drive the delivery and operations to deploy and scale the Kubernetes Platform. This role serves as a subject matter expert and will join a team of engineers building out this platform for the enterprise. Supported by a team of engineers, the ideal candidate has engineered large scale platform-as-a-service products and is highly skilled in solving problems through software development practices.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required:
Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/ or equivalent experience/certification
6 years of technology experience with a blend of deep technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset that also includes:
3 years in an engineering role as a strategic thinker that relates technology solutions to customer use cases
3 years experience working with DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, Agile methodologies
2 years’ experience with Public Cloud technology stacks such as AWS, Azure, GCP or Alibaba.
2 years’ experience with containers– Kubernetes solution design, deployment, management and orchestration across multi-cloud environment
2 years’ experience driving highly technical architecture, and driving outcomes with automation through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, GitOps(Argo), and Helm
Ability to design end to end architecture that supports 99.99% service availability with performance and cost considerations
Preferred:
Proven experience with at least one higher level programming language: Go, Java, Python, or similar
Excellent technical knowledge of current & emerging infrastructure systems & standards
Strong knowledge of the available tools, software, applications, and systems for attaining best-in-class technology platforms across the enterprise.
Proven ability to create constructive relationships, influence, and communicate (to product team, engineering management, and non-technical staff).
Significant experience in the design, implementation and operational support of mission critical solutions
Demonstrated experience delivering technology solutions in a fast-paced, deadline driven enterprise environment
Demonstrated experience learning and applying new technologies to solve business needs
Excellent problem-solving skills working independently and through leading outcomes for cross functional teams
Infrastructure DevOps experience including self-healing methodologies
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Help lead and execute deployment, automation, maintenance, and management of cloud infrastructure to ensure security, performance, and availability of production systems.
Assist with identifying, capturing and maintaining cloud and automation operational metrics.
Leverage expertise to efficiently code solutions and to continuously improve products and solutions to be scalable and highly available.
Automate everything, from right sizing (VM, Disks, Storage Tiers), self-service and real-time spend visibility.
Review issues logs and metrics to identify trends and solutions that should be implemented.
Maintain in-depth documentation of activities and system configuration and review documentation of junior / other engineers
Proactively perform troubleshooting, resolution, and problem analysis.
Participate in architectural discussions to help Application Teams make the most efficient choices.
Maintain industry knowledge and enhance subject matter expertise, identify trends and changes in technology and automation strategies.
Assist with interviewing talent, provide peer reviews/feedback frequently and foster a modern engineering culture.
Managing Priorities and Delivery
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
Provide technical leadership for successful platform and project implementations
Assist with determining priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to complete projects on schedule
Assist with reviewing vendor proposals and selecting appropriate vendor for services/technologies
Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders
Communicate concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand
Demonstrate an understanding of business priorities
Support achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
Perform other reasonable duties as required for this position
The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $179,270 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
