Mandate:

Manage the logistics operations and activities of the company’s Miami office and direct the integration of all activities to coordinate and improve consolidation and distribution activities. Recruit, hire, fire, and train subordinate staff. Evaluate and coordinate the implementation of operational procedures and oversee the establishment of processes related to determining optimal transportation modes to increase efficiency and profit for the company. Confer with company executives to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand and improve market presence, and promote business. Oversee the arrangement of routine and urgent solutions for various logistical problems faced by clients. Provide staff with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties related to the sale and arrangement of freight services for special project, oversized, out of gauge (“OOH”), and breakbulk cargo transportation. Negotiate shipping rates with carriers. Make recommendations to senior executive management to reduce shipment costs and engage in new logistic partnerships. Create and implement new logistics procedures and freight forwarding practices to maximize efficiency in storage and delivery. Promote new standards to meet cost, productivity and timeliness targets and increase the company’s freight capacities.

Requirements:

Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a sales support, customer service, or import/export operations capacity. Related experience must be in the international freight forwarding industry and must include:

Experience in researching and analyzing market trends and forecasting market opportunities

Familiarity with U.S. import/export requirements for special project, oversized, out of gauge (OOG), and breakbulk cargo transportation
