AVP Trust Officer

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The AVP Trust Officer provides assistance to the SVP
Director of Wealth Management & Trust in the management of the Trust
Department. These areas include administering fiduciary services,
including but not limited to trustee, successor trustee, co-trustee,
power of attorney for finances, estate planning, financial planning, and
personal cash management. This position is instrumental in helping
implement department priorities and initiatives. PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in administering the Trust function by:
Facilitating business retention and growth through various avenues
including but not limited to going on calls, working in conjunction with
other departments, community involvement and professional affiliations
Ensuring efficient, quality account administration by fully utilizing
technical knowledge and technology Operating in full compliance with
internal policies and procedures Maintaining knowledge and complying
with any applicable laws and/or regulations Assisting with implementing
department priorities and key initiatives Coaching other team members
Manages key trust and client account relationships by: Reviewing,
understanding and implementing trust and estate planning documents
Creating solutions in response to designated clients needs Reviewing
and providing input on investment strategy for individual portfolios
Providing decisions on whether to grant discretionary distribution
requests Solving trust beneficiaries concerns / questions Handling
personal cash management questions / issues / concerns Ensuring terms
and conditions of designated trust accounts are adhered to Overseeing
compliance with all fiduciary tax laws and regulations on designated
accounts Building new book of business and managing effectively Trust
Officer II – Manages legal responsibilities for Trust by: Performing
depositions Representing the Bank in legal matters, including but not
limited to court appointments Assisting with legal review of documents
Creating legal opinions, findings, materials, etc. Serving as a legal
expert on trust issues and utilizing other resources as appropriate
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES Attends Trust Committee meetings on an as
needed basis Serves on other internal committees as requested
Participation in bank-sponsored events Identify and assist implementing
process improvements including efficient utilization of systems and
technology Respond to and assist with day-to-day questions Other duties
