Research Technician

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a temporary Research Technician to support an established food and beverage company out of Glenview, IL. This Food Technologist/ Laboratory Technician will aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations.

Day to Day:

Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for Kraft Heinz food and beverage products

Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes

Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results

Perform sensory testing of prototypes and coordinate expert panel sensory tests

Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations

Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis

Submit prototypes for analytical testing and compile results

Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information

Write progress reports

Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies

Ensure laboratory safety

Skills and Requirements

B.S. in Food Science or related field

2 year of related experience in the food/beverage industry

Ability to provide sensory descriptions of foods and beverages (flavors and taste)

Experience with ingredient applications and food/beverage formulation

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good record-keeping and organization null
