Purpose:The overall role and responsibility of this position is to provide store supervision and associate development, and to develop competency in all aspects of store management. This position works closely with the Store Director and department heads to plan for, and achieve maximum sales, proper controls, and positive working conditions. Position requires basic operational knowledge and exposure to all departments. This position assumes responsibility for entire store operations and related decisions as assigned in absence of Store Director, with an emphasis on key service and engagement operations, including cash controls, customer experience, front end and ecommerce operations, scheduling, and Human Resource functions within the store. Strong supervisory, administrative, and associate relations skills are essential. Position requires ability to encourage individual and group effort toward defined goals and to provide training, development, and work direction in a supportive and consistent manner. The Store Engagement Manager will work in partnership with the Store Sales and Operations Manager to ensure all areas of responsibility and operations are maintained.Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Works through Store Director and department heads to establish budget, plan for and achieve budgetary numbers and evaluate store in this light on an ongoing basiso Performs or assists in store grading at discretion of the Store Directoro Communicates consistently with department heads, concerning priorities and objectivesDemonstrates understanding of store priorities and can anticipate changeso Shows initiative in problem solvingo Can readily adjust to changing conditionso Keeps Store Director informed to store conditions and decisions madeMonitors store appearance and conditions to ensure high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and productivityo Checks that store security conditions are maintainedo Assesses store conditions in each department no less than once per houro Checks conditions of parking lot and grounds for safety and cleanliness; smoking in designated locationMonitors associate effectiveness and productivity and ensures efficient labor utilizationo Ensures store policies and procedures are enforcedo Reviews and approves weekly schedules before posted, monitors store conditions and makes appropriate adjustments throughout the week as necessaryo Monitors department planning systems in relation to objectives accomplishedo Checks that safety procedures are followed and working conditions are safeo Monitors customer relations and service levels to ensure a positive shopping environmento Monitors Cub Hub dashboard and holds teammates accountable daily for completion of training coursesParticipates in store meetingso Contributes to the decision-making process of the storeo Makes suggestions and recommendations for improvementsPerforms delegated Store Director responsibilities in the absence of Store Director or as assignedSupervises Front End Operationso Training and oversight of cashiers, CSMs, SCOT attendants, Service Center and BookkeepingSupervises eCommerce departmento Overall operation including scheduling, picking, staging, metricsSupervises Maintenance departmento Ensures store conditions are properly maintainedo Performs probationary and regular performance reviewso Schedules personnel in collaboration with head of maintenance to ensure proper coverageo Training and oversight of cart retrieval proceduresPerforms store personnel functions as necessaryo Conducts screening interview and recommends candidates to department headso Consults with department heads about personnel problems and work to resolveo Administers corrective action notices and consults Store Director on terminationso Ensures compliance with union contract ruleso Payroll/timeclock managemento Workers Compensation and General Liability reporting and follow upOversees loss prevention functions to minimize losses and to ensure safe shopping nd working conditionsJob Requirements:Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrates functional/technical store operations expertiseProven managerial skills to successfully monitor performance and accountabilityPossess strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate othersResourceful with ability to work across all areas of the businessPossess the ability to motivate and work in cooperation with others to achieve desired resultsDemonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skillsMy Cub.
