Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Wound Care Crosby, MN Nursing Part Time Over, 8-hour Day Shift FTE: .5 FTE (40 hours per pay period) Weekend Requirements: No weekends Posted 09/27/2024 Req # 13536 POSITION SUMMARY RN: Registered Nurses provide direct care to patients and are a part of all care given by other departments. Registered Nurses must continually strive to provide the highest quality of care possible for the patients. They must also lead the nursing team toward the achievement of the goal of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. High quality care and overall efficiency are essential components to this success. WOC Nurse: To serve as expert practitioner, clinical resource, and consultant for the acute, long term and home care patients with selected disorders of gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems, such as complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulas, dermal ulcers and incontinence. To provide the full scope of WOC nursing practice which also includes other components such as education, counseling, research and administration. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: BSN required. Two years of relevant or recent nursing experience preferred. License/Certificates: Current Minnesota RN license. American Heart Association BLS required within 30 days of hire. Wound, Ostomy and/or Continence certifications upon hire preferred, or must obtain at least one of these certifications within one year of hire. Special Skills and Aptitudes: Knowledge and skills to implement nursing theory. Demonstrates mature judgment, initiative and proficiency in nursing skills. Demonstrates leadership qualities and executive and organizational abilities. Ability to lead and supervise resident/patient care team. Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients and family, staff and other healthcare providers. Ability to adapt resources to the needs of the situation. Knowledge of applied science principles in nursing situations involving techniques and procedures, hygiene and safety measures. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to recognize manifestation of physical and emotional problems. Knowledge and skills to review charts and enter data efficiently. Teaching ability and ability to work independently using good judgment. Ability to properly and safely operate all equipment required for this position. Knowledge and use of community resources. Maintains good physical and mental health. May be assigned to specialty areas. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES RN: Exercises concern for the patients welfare, maintains knowledge of the patients condition, administers medication and performs treatment while practicing and maintaining high ethical standards. Responsible for the direct and indirect care of residents/patients assigned to her/him under the guidance of the Nurse Manager and/or Chief Nursing Officer, maintains accurate and complete records of nursing assessments and care, and counsels of the client and family in meeting nursing related needs. Remains up-to-date on new nursing skills and technology, utilizing the nursing process (observation, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the delivery of care. Performs duties in accordance with physicians orders, the Medical Centers policies, methods, and techniques, and in coordinating with other departments and Medical Center personnel. When requested, participates in in-service programs, education programs, and orientation of new personnel. Provides leadership and promotes teamwork. Demonstrates Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned. WOC Nurse: Serves as consultant and/or direct care provider to potential ostomates and their families, patients with wounds, pressure sores, incontinence, and skin care at CRMC and to area health care providers. Participates in interdisciplinary conferences to plan patient care. Prioritizes responsibilities and completes projects within allotted time.
