Teachers Aide / Paraprofessional

Position Type: This is a full time, 10-month position. Monday through
Friday. Hours will be determined by the supervisor.

The primary role of the CAS Paraprofessional is to help increase the
academic achievement of assigned CAS students.

Within the classroom environment, the CAS paraprofessional is expected
to assist with the following activities:

Essential Job Duties:

Provide small group instruction to students in assigned ELA and math
groups, under direction of the classroom teacher.
Assist the classroom teacher with on-going assessment of students (i.e.
A/R goals, STAR testing).
Follow classroom schedule under the guidance of the teacher.
Ensure the safety of all children in the classroom environment.
Implement and follow through with student behavior plan, as well as any
Individual Education Plans, for assigned student(s).
Act as a substitute teacher for the assigned classroom, when the teacher
is not available.
Assist in the delivery of lesson (as directed by the classroom
teacher).
Maintain open communication with the teacher regarding any classroom and
student issues.
Share responsibility for grade-level and school-wide activities.
Commit to ongoing professional growth, as provided by CAS and/or outside
agencies.
Other duties as assigned.
