JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Anthropology (https://anth.la.psu.edu/) in the College of the Liberal Arts is seeking a Research Data Management Specialist . This position will be responsible for the transfer of large amounts of data between secure university servers, post-processing image data, maintaining python scripts, and providing data to collaborators as directed by their supervisor.
The key focus of the Research Data Management Specialist will be on image data processing . Other duties include but are not limited to:
Perform data transfers and sharing, ensuring completion/data quality checks
Database management and updating
Maintenance of current and d evelopment of new python scripts to improve productivity and efficiency of current work pathways
Provide assistance in creating SOPs
Assist/train lab members in relation to basic image processing or scripting issues
Additional Information : This is a limited-term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire.

Education and Experience : This position will be filled as a Research Data Management Specialist – Professional, which requires a Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicants must also have the following competencies:
Proficient in P ython
Familiarity with many types and styles of databases
Proficient using Microsoft Office /365 , Outlook , Zoom, and Teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of responsiveness
Attention to detail , willingness to learn, and creative problem-solving skills

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$46,400.00 – $67,300.00
