Description

The employee will be responsible for the efficient running of his/her appropriate shift in the batching department. He/she is responsible for the appropriate paperwork and product completion to the daily schedule. Batching lead people are required to comply with and assure their direct reports comply with departmental safety requirements, contribute to the quality improvement process and interface and communicate inter/intra departmentally.

Essential Job Functions:

• The Pre-weigh Lead person is responsible to walk through the pre-weigh and chemical sampling areas before the shift to assure all equipment and department cleanliness / safety condition is up to speed before his/her employees start work.

• Employee is responsible to track their employees’ attendance (attendance controller), overtime (overtime worksheet) and temporary employees’ time cards (signing off daily and routing to H/R after the final shift of the week).

• Pre-weigh lead person will check hourly with each of their direct reports. They will explain any/all inefficiencies at this time to include their expectations of the individual employee.

• The Pre-weigh lead person is to assure any / all spills are reported and investigated accurately and proper paper work (spill report) is filled out and routed to the batching planner to adjust batch / chemical out of inventory, Batching Manager and Director of Manufacturing for informational purposes.

• The employee is responsible to assure Fork Truck, Drum Tippers and Electric Pallet Jack audits are filled out before this equipment is utilized on their shift. These audit forms are to be routed to the responsible warehouse person at the end of every shift.

• Allocate chemicals to pre-weighed batches every day.

• Release chemicals daily from inspection into inventory when approved by the lab.

• Issue batch cards to pre-weighers daily according to the pre-weigh schedule.

• Issue expiry chemical report to the chemical samplers monthly to keep inventory active.

• Is responsible for the chemical inventory integrity on an ongoing basis.

• Pick up approval labels from the lab daily / ongoing.

• Pick up the batch cards from the lab weekly once created, bring to the batching office and file per the batch card SOP.

• Batching lead person is responsible to walk through batching / production at the end of the shift to assure all tasks have been completed properly and all appropriate paperwork filled out to Hayward procedure.

Requirements

• Employee is required to pass a drug test and/or alcohol test.

• While performing the job the employee must be able to stand and walk constantly during shift independently

• While performing the job the employee must be able to sit frequently during shift.

• While performing the job the employee must be able to push/pull, carry, and reach frequently during work shift.

• While performing the job the employee must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs frequently.

• While performing the job the employee must be able to climb, stoop/crouch, crawl/kneel, twist and balance occasionally during work shift.

• While performing the job the employee must have a keen sense of hearing, sight and depth acuity constantly during shift.

Drivers License required.

Working Conditions:

• Employee works primarily indoors.

• Works with chemical compounds that have been FDA approved.

• Has moderate exposure to cleaning and/or other chemicals.

• Works in warm and/or cold temperatures on a seasonal basis.
