The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County is looking for a motivated, hardworking individuals to fill OPS Registered Nurse positions located in Sanford, FL.

Condition of Employment:

This position may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disasters or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. This position will maintain confidentiality and security of records as specified by departmental regulations and laws.

This position requires a Valid Florida Driver License.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Specialty Care HIV/AIDS Program Manager, the incumbent in this position will provide professional nursing duties in the HIV/AIDS Program and in the Clinical Services department. This includes interviewing clients about a sensitive communicable disease such as HIV/AIDS or sexually transmitted disease. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Administers HIV/AIDS and nPEP services in the HIV clinic setting of the FDOH Seminole, utilizing the current HRSA and Ryan White standards and complies with program requirements. Provides STD, and HIV clinical services to clients. Administers treatment as ordered by clinicians. Review of Immunizations records for missing doses, administering required immunizations, and make appropriate referrals as indicated. Completes required electronic documentation in Health Management System (HMS) and Provide Enterprise System. Participates in health fairs and community events.

Participates in quality assurance activities through periodic chart reviews, daily Medication Inventory, timely follow-up of client lab results for education and treatment especially viral loads and CD4 counts.

Provides nursing education and interviews in the HIV/AIDS clinic and assists the general clinic for Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV client services. Provides accurate completion of the Superbill to facilitate the check-out and billing process for each client.

Other duties including responding to natural and other disasters and working in Special Needs Shelters.

Administers medications, long term injectables and immunization services in the clinic setting of the FDOH Seminole including satellite clinic sites utilizing the current CDC immunization schedule and utilizing safe recommended techniques for vaccine administration. Provides services to clients requesting immunizations other adult immunizations, and flu vaccines during the Flu season. Completes required documentation in Florida Shots and the Health Management System (HMS). Assist with orientation and training for new nursing and clerical staff.,

Provides nursing coverage in the general clinic for Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and PrEP client services.

Complying with program requirements through participation in ongoing training and updates in the TRAIN online system.

Other duties including responding to natural and other disasters and working in Special Needs Shelters.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Must be bilingual (English/Spanish preferred), terminology, principles and analytical techniques of interviewing; data collection and analysis principles and procedures. Ability to prepare reports, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to Ryan White, ADAP, State and Local Specialty Care HIV/AIDS Programs, understand and follow legislative policy direction as established in Federal and Florida Statutes; deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner; work independently, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; utilize problem solving techniques and use personal computers.

Qualifications:

Valid Florida Registered Nursing License or a multi-state Registered Nursing License from another compact state, that is in good standing

Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. Emergency duties may also include in-state and/or out-of-state deployment.

Perferred:

Verifiable experience working with any of the following programs: STD, HIV/AIDS

Bilingual (proficient in English and Spanish)
