What You’ll Do

As a A-Operator , you’ll be part of our team located in Tupelo, MS. You’ll get to:

Report in 30 minutes before start of shift, to receive pass down from previous Lead (major issues during shift, part count inventory, partial bin counts, etc.)

Give direction and instruct OPERATORS on what the shift goals are and assign members to their workstation

Make sure rules and responsibilities are being followed and all team members work safely, together as a team

Assist/Train team members

Make sure pre/post shift checks on STRAIGHTENER MACHINES are completed and equipment are maintained

Track/Log/Update consumable item usage – SENSORS, LABELS, etc. Inventory count (end of shift) daily

Make sure all bins are correctly labeled, counted (per packing instructions and standard bin count), and staged at designated locations

Place orders (enter in RFP) on spare parts and consumable items

Make sure quality checks are performed at set frequency (stamping, heat treat, straightener)

Work with Tool Room and Maintenance team, to set up/maintain daily, weekly, monthly maintenance and preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment (from de-coiler to blade straightener)

Enforce disciplinary actions to associates that do not adhere to the rules/responsibilities set for BLADE PRODUCTION LINE team members

Work with Technician Lead in collecting data and send out “End of Shift Report” shift), fill out “Key Work Center” information, enter (RM) daily production count in AS400 (stamped parts, heat treated parts, scrapped parts, and finished goods)

Work with Technician Lead. If support is needed (manpower, cleaning, maintenance, load coils, etc.) Production Lead and Operators will support.

Work with Tool Room Supervisor and Manager in tracking associates’ hours and vacation time

High School diploma or equivalent

Team player and understand what it takes to work as a team (teamwork)

Good mechanical background

Familiarity with company policies and Blade Line Rules/Guidelines

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Good organizational and leadership skills

Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Some understanding of Lean Manufacturing

Understand and capable of using precision measuring instruments (check gages, micrometers, calipers, and indicators)

Good understanding and capable of reading blueprints and part (GD&T) prints

Good understanding of metal stamping (coil set-up, feeder, press, EOAT, etc.) and milling machine process

Good understanding on Straightener Machine (change overs, calibration, robot touch up, troubleshoot, maintenance, replace sensors, etc.)

Good understanding of die set-up (shut-height, tonnage, feed line height, progression, etc.)

Willing to get hands dirty and help move bins, HT Chemical Titration test, all Quality checks, etc.

Able to lift, up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet (walking/standing for a long period of time)

Understand inventory control, quality requirements, process control, and preventative maintenance
