As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

Let’s Talk about the Role

The primary responsibility of the Steam/Gas Mechanic is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics work closely with Supervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

How You Will Make a Difference

Dismantle, assemble, move and align, machinery and equipment using: hoists, cranes, chain falls, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, micrometers, rules, squares, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipment

Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures

Responsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&DC, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and supplies

Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches

Perform machining and welding operations for making various parts for lab and shop training equipment

Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for purchasing, consisting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices as needed to complete assigned projects

Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies and perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs as needed

Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures

Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments

Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.

Special Role Requirements:

Minimum of one (1) years’ experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines

Valid Driver’s License

Preferred: Degree/Associate Degree in Technical Field or Gas Turbine Systems

Willing to work 12 hours on Day or Night Shift.

100% travel is required

The hourly wage range for this position is $25.00. Employees may be eligible for overtime. FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and Wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program. Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.

All Training is paid for (online courses and in-person)

100% of GSA Per Diem Rate.
