Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for Maintenance Supervisor to join our company at our Worthington, IN seed corn production facility. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will focus on organizing, prioritizing and execution of plant maintenance repairs, reliability improvements and projects. This role not only capitalizes on your concepts and design knowledge but combines it with your knowledge of maintenance and ability to get on the floor to collaborate with team members and maintain equipment. Further develop your leadership and people management skills by managing work processes, balancing workloads, training & motivating team members. Utilize your problem-solving skills while fostering innovation, risk taking and creativity. The nature and complexity of the work requires technical expertise, resourcefulness, independent judgment and decision-making.

This Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for tactical planning of the Maintenance Team to ensure the production team has the personnel and resources available to complete the assigned tasks as defined by location or corporate goals. Leads and fosters the safety culture at the locations and drives maintenance and reliability productivity improvement efforts. Networks with location management on day-to-day location operations, area planning, maintenance, and staffing requirements. The Maintenance Supervisor needs to be knowledgeable of the fundamentals of the overall processes supervised.

This position is also responsible for leading and coordinating the daily maintenance activities by setting the schedules for the maintenance team through the proper use of the SAP PM System. Order parts or equipment to coincide with scheduled maintenance activities to ensure timely completion. Act as the plant SAP PM System Owner and conduct regular system health checks and general upkeep related to plant and overall business strategy changes. Lead efforts to improve maintenance effectiveness through continuously improving preventative maintenance strategy, task lists, PM intervals, reporting content, parts inventory data, etc. Ensure maintenance activities are completed to meet the expectations of the Process Safety Management process for the location.

What Youll Do:

Coach, support and develop employees on your team consisting of an Automation Coordinator, Electrician and Maintenance Technician in a manner that fosters effective collaboration and teamwork, demonstrating and modeling core values. Accountable for annual goal setting as well as providing coaching and feedback throughout the year.

Communicate effectively by holding regular team meetings and provide timely business updates.

Oversee and participate as needed personnel decisions and carry out actions under the guidance of the Plant Manager.

Accountable for preventative maintenance, routine maintenance and all capital projects managed at the location.

Responsible for the day to day activities of the maintenance shop/equipment and inventories related to maintenance activities. Facilitate the development of maintenance schedules and allocation of team members to complete schedules. Possess knowledge of machines, equipment and worker capabilities to meet identified timelines.

Serve as site contact for all capital projects, monitor and manage progress to ensure projects are completed in time and budget parameters.

Establish a 5-year capital plan including defined project scope and projected costs.

Participate as a key member of the Location Management Team and Extended Location Leadership Team.

Ensure completion and updating of appropriate records, documents and reports (standard operating procedures, permits, inventory, quality records, training manuals. Etc.).

Implement and monitor maintenance KPIs and ensure analysis is conducted as needed for plant/production activities.

Responsible for establishing a 3-5-year maintenance plant, projected scopes, projected cost and projected labor.

Accountable for enforcing safe work practices and procedures in the Maintenance Department including performing safety audits, safety inspections and daily workplace examinations. Generate job procedures for all maintenance work including daily work permits. Ensure employees are properly trained on job duties and equipment as assigned.

Identify root causes of issues and implement solutions to correct.

Order all parts needed to execute maintenance work in areas of responsibility and verify that the parts are correct and on site. Monthly verify on site parts inventory is accurate.

Ensure an accurate equipment history and master data is kept up in the plant SAP PM System in accordance to company guidelines.

Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain lowest life cycle cost on difference classes of equipment.

Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the workplace is maintained by setting standards and ensuring adherence to those standards.Verify work completion and quality of maintenance jobs – work orders, clean up, test starts, production handover, etc.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

4-5 years of industrial production or maintenance experience

1-3 years of leadership experience (leading processes, programs, or supervisory experience considered)

Willingness and ability to work overtime hours or shift work including weekend work required during seasonal peaks

Excellent Communication skills including presentation skills

Problem solving and analysis skills

Computer skills – efficient in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
