job summary:

A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Rapid City, SD (hybrid) area. This role focuses on researching, designing, and developing hydraulic systems, collaborating with team members on multiple projects, and utilizing CAD software to create and interpret engineering drawings, while ensuring project feasibility and customer satisfaction.

salary: $20.71 – 28.21 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and mechanical devices, with a focus on hydraulics.

Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine project feasibility in terms of time and cost.

Assist drafters in developing structural designs using tools, equipment, or software.

Skills:

Creativity, strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to make sketches, create engineering drawings, and perform common computations.

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and hydraulic schematics.

Experience with CAD software (preferably CREO or SolidWorks) and other engineering applications.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in engineering (required).

2-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

Minimum 1 year of experience with hydraulics.
