Job Description
The Regional Sales Engineer (RSE) is responsible for all sales activities of Compact Hydraulic (CH) products and solutions to increase market share in their assigned region. The RSE is the one designated point person – to find and pursue new business, determine requirements, create a value proposition, and pull together the necessary resources to ultimately win profitable business.
Lead all sales activities to increase market share with our OEMs.
Foster and maintain excellent OEM relationships.
Create and execute a regional sales plan to increase market share.
Identify market potential by customer and application jointly with OEM and Bosch Rexroth team members.
Work closely-together with assigned OEMs to integrate our products and solutions into customer applications/machines.
Actively seek opportunities and visit customers.
Develop in-depth knowledge of the compact hydraulics market (e.g., technology trends, competitive landscape).
Gain insight of customers challenges, technical and commercial needs, and future innovations.
Engage with our customers functional areas such as engineering, purchasing, and operations teams at all levels.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide a premier customer experience.
Leverage the Bosch Rexroth organization to maximize our presence on customers applications/machines using cross-selling and value-based-selling.
Provide technical product support to OEMs
Train OEMs on the features, advantages, and benefits of our products and solutions.
Develop and deliver presentations to OEMs
Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
Region and Location:
Midwest Region: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan (lower peninsula only).
South Central:, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Location: Team member shall reside in a major metropolitan area located in the Midwest or South Central region
Travel:
50% travel required – mostly domestic but can include international travel.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Industrial Engineering (IE) or other relevant technical degree with proven work experience.
3 years of work experience as a Sales or Applications Engineer in fluid power.
General knowledge of hydraulic principles, components, and systems
IFPS certified Hydraulic Specialist and/or Fluid Power Specialist is a plus
50% travel required – mostly domestic but can include international travel.
Ability to observe, evaluate, and diagnose customers unknown needs, market trends, and competitor developments.
Strong business development and sales acumen with excellent communication skills
Sound judgment and decision-making abilities even under uncertainty
Proficiency in all MS Office applications and experience with CRM and ERP software
