Aston Carter is currently hiring a HR Generalist to join our clients team in Edmond! Our client is looking for an HR Generalist with experience working in the construction industry.

Job Overview: The HR Generalist will play a vital role in providing administrative support to the Human Resources department, ensuring efficient HR operations and adherence to company policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

– Manage unemployment claims and related documentation.

– Conduct I-9 audits to verify employment eligibility.

– Process pay adjustments and back pay.

– Handle requests for equipment and assets.

– Verify and audit new hire information.

– Complete DOT employment verification post-orientation.

– Maintain and monitor DOT random drug testing records.

– Administer COBRA benefits.

– Enroll employees in benefits programs and deactivate exiting employees.

– Process employee terminations.

– Enter direct deposit and pay card information.

– Update employee files with personal information changes.

– Answer HR line calls and serve as a backup for all company phone lines.

– Assist walk-in applicants and collect recruiting paperwork.

– Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

– Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

– Strong attention to detail.

– Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

– Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Preferred Experience:

– 2-3 years of HR experience.

– HR experience in the construction industry is preferred.

– Familiarity with Viewpoint (HRIS).

– Bilingual (Spanish) is advantageous.

– PHR certification is a plus.
