Located in in Henderson, Texas the HOPE facility complies with HSSC Residential standards and provides a safe and secure environment for staff and client while utilizing employing state of the art treatment methods.
MTC is hiring a Technology Assisted Treatment Counselor looking to give people hope, skills, and opportunities for a better life at HOPE TTC.
Position Summary:
Reports to the facility administrator. Responsible for providing virtual counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The counselor will deliver evidence-based treatment through telehealth modalities, ensuring accessible and effective care. This role requires a licensed professional with strong communication skills, a deep understanding of addiction and recovery, and proficiency in using digital tools to deliver therapy.
Essential Functions:
1. Provide Counseling: Deliver individual and group counseling sessions via telehealth platforms, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing.
2. Technology Utilization: Ensuring that sessions are delivered smoothly and securely. Adapt treatment approaches to the virtual environment while maintaining engagement and effectiveness.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies. Document all interactions with progress notes.
4. Client Education: Provide educational resources and support to clients on substance use disorders, recovery strategies, and the use of technology in treatment.
5. Crisis Intervention: Respond to client crises during virtual sessions, providing immediate support and coordinating emergency care if needed.
6. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all counseling services are delivered in accordance with state licensing requirements, ethical guidelines, and HIPAA regulations.
7. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest trends and research in substance use treatment, particularly as they relate to technology-assisted care. Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
8. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
9. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
10. Maintain accountability of staff, offenders and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Licensure: Must be a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in Texas.
Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED required. Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning substance abuse treatment or substance abuse education experience also required. Must possess current valid licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), or current valid licensure as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) by the Texas Certification Board of Addition Professionals. Must maintain valid licensure or certification for continued employment in the position. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
