From the exceptional service at the check-in counter to the departure gate, and even behind the scenes making sure your checked bags arrive with you, our Airport Operations team keeps operations at our airports running smoothly every single day.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility is to provide leadership oversight at the station for all aspects of operational performance and service delivery in the Airport environment including operational activities below the wing. Responsible for accomplishing budgeted financial objectives and maintaining an effective and involved workforce comprised of unionized, management & administrative employees. Collaborates with Union leadership to ensure fair and accurate administration of collective bargaining agreements, and ongoing positive Union-Management relations. Position interfaces frequently with other departments including Station Operations Center, Customer Service, Business office, Flight Operations, Onboard, Maintenance, in addition to government agencies, airport authorities, business partners and vendors.

Operational planning and safe execution of all Terminal operations
Department Administration and Financial Controls
Operational performance
Department Training
Terminal Baggage Sortation / BHS (Baggage Handling System)
Station Baggage Control Center
Baggage Related IT Initiatives
Cold Sort, TOB, and Make-up Areas
Cross divisional collaboration
Collaboration with Union partners
STAR Alliancepartnerships
United Express Operations
Active involvement in local airport community (TSA, Airport Authority, other airlines)
Management and frontline employee development and interaction
Working with Business partners: Government Agencies (TSA, FAA); and Airport Authorities

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
4 years management experience in an operational environment
2 years of ramp leadership in an airport operations environment
Demonstrated success in the management of a multi-department, multi-layered business including operations, logistics, business systems, performance metrics, and budgets
Demonstrated success in the management of people
Demonstrated success in decision-making and goal -directed leadership
Tried ability in problem identification, analysis and action planning and knowledge of continuous improvement methods
Proven familiarity with operational & corporate processes & procedures
Past experience running Safety-related programs and regulatory requirements
Previous experience handling in a unionized workforce environment
Excels at team leadership and mentorship
Promotes a safe working environment
Responsible for a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation
Position requires weekend work and travel
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
Minimum of 2 years managerial experience working in an airport HUB
Solid understanding of Hub operations
Project Management expertise
