Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles.DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrows healthcare providers. Responsibilities

Medical Assistant responsibilities include providing a basic level of patient care and treatment. Assists with obtaining vital signs, documents chief complaint, obtains patient history, and provides assistance to

physicians, residents and/or licensed nursing personnel. Alerts physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities.

Orthopedic Technician responsibilities include performs casting, splinting, traction application and various soft good applications. Works with providers, residents, nurse practitioners, and nurses to

coordinate ongoing orthopedic needs. Assists providers with wound care.

Medical Assistant Daily Operations and Procedures

Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.

Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested.

Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies.

Documents clinically relevant findings in the patients record according to hospital protocols and clinical protocols.

Monitors and records patient vital signs, weight, positioning, ADLs I&O activity and blood glucose readings per RN instructions, hospital protocols, and standards of care.

Initiates orders according to SJHMC time performance standards-STAT-Within 5 minutes, Discharge/Transfer- within 10 minutes, Routine- within 30 minutes.

Conducts front desk duties as needed (check in, registrations, scheduling appointments). Complete full patient registration in IDX when registering new patients.

Ensure all patient information is updated and current when following up/interacting with patients. Verify insurance eligibility and/or benefits.

Orthopedic Technician Daily Operations and Procedures

Applies and adjust cast and splints. Executes soft proper application.

Orders, maintains, and charges supplies.

Reports observed or reported alterations in the patients condition to the RN and physician i.e. skin/neurovascular integrity, wound assessment and dressing application.

Charge entry and reconciliation.

Prepares patients for transfer/transportation to other departments/areas with orthopaedic injuries i.e. assisting patient to cart of bed and transporting patient when STAT or as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum:

High School Diploma/GED – High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program. Candidates who completed a program prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing evidence of direct supervision by the same physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours to satisfy the minimum education requirements.

As related to Medical Assistant, demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients.

As related to Orthopedic Tech, six months related experience required. Demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients required.

American Heart Association BLS card

Preferred:

Previous MA experience highly preferred.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.

Previous experience in designated specialty also preferred.

Bilingual skills preferred.

Pay Range

$20.71 – $28.48 /hour
