The Narratives Studio utilizes strategic storytelling to influence the way we plan, develop and sell products within Business and Industry Copilot (BIC). Our studio specializes in articulating the vision for BIC products in the Age of AI. Through collaboration with product leads and industry partners, we create unique stories that empower and empathize with our users, reinforcing customer value and maintaining consistency across BIC, in alignment with One Microsoft.
We are seeking a Designer 2 with experience in visual storytelling and product design to help create AI-powered stories for our stakeholders. For this role we are looking for a candidate with a passion for creating visually stunning and user-friendly digital experiences that enhance user engagement. You will work closely with our product development teams and customers to design and augment our products. Your previous experience will help lead workstreams, motivate team members, and influence decision makers.

Responsibilities
Recognizes and communicates the user needs to team members and recommends ideas to create a compelling narrative for the product. Explores new and interesting ways of telling stories (e.g., video illustrations, sound).
Conveys work to peers and managers within their studio team(s) so that the audience understands. Sets context for stakeholders.
Produces visual designs from concept to delivery.
Creates a variety of visual design documents including mood boards, storyboards, creative briefs, three-dimensional (3D) models, product renderings/visualizations, color and materials design, motion studies, iconography, illustrations, layouts, and redlines for a set of products, tools, and services.
Creates wireframes, journey maps, user jobs and scenarios, task flows, and personas in support of interaction designs for hardware and/or software-based experiences.
Conceptualizes and delivers artifacts at various levels of fidelity.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3 years experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5 years experience working in product or service design
OR Masters Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3 years experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).
2 years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
Product Design IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 – $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 – $208,800 per year.
