Test Technician II (Second Shift)

Location/Division Specific Information:
Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce-high quality components used in the world’s finest tools used by researches like Nobel prize winners and the teams who imaged the COVID-19 virus.

With such an important global mission statement our Test Technicians reinforce our Quality Culture through product testing to ensure that Customers across the world receive the highest quality best performing products possible!
A Day in the Life:
Perform testing using prescribed methods/work instructions
Collect test data for our database then analyze data to make process decisions
Assist in selection and/or set-up of specialized equipment
Performs wide variety of analysis to identify and address problems
Perform machine set-up, calibration and preventative maintenance
Rebuild manufacturing equipment when needed to ensure operability
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
A 2-year technical degree preferred or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills. Military Technical Training in lieu of technical degree may also be considered
Experience:
At least 1 year of manufacturing/electronics testing required
Previous experience using test equipment preferred (Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Chart Recorders)
Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus
Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs a plus (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to read detailed drawings and perform basic problem solving on electronic and mechanical assemblies at the component and system level
Comfortable to work in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPE
Able to follow detailed work instructions then successfully complete daily work
Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively
Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Ability to lift up to 35lbs
Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in teams with differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds

Competitive Hourly Pay Rate: $26.50
Additional shift differential for 2nd shift and 3rd shift positions
