Summary
The Hatchery Worker is responsible for working in all areas of the hatchery with the primary responsibility being to work on the transfer crew and processing crew as needed. Must not have exposure to poultry or birds outside of work.
This position has a target wage of $18.05 – $18.35 per hour and is eligible for comprehensive benefits.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform duties in all areas of the hatchery as assigned:
Tray eggs from farm racks or cases into incubator racks
Load incubators according to schedule
Clean and disinfect incubators, hatchers, egg room, processing room, and hatchery equipment
Transfer eggs from incubators to Hatcher trays as part of the Transfer Team following SOPs
Assist in all chick processing functions
Monitor machines and equipment for proper operation and document findings. Make adjustments as necessary or inform supervisor when machine or equipment performance is deficient
Perform minor maintenance duties as required
Observe all company personnel, safety, quality, and food safety policies
Must not have exposure to poultry or birds outside of work
Adhere to all safety rules including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters
All other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements
Ability to work independently
Good mechanical abilities
Ability to adapt and learn various positions and procedures
Environmental Factors and Physicals Requirements
Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 50 pounds
Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 – 105 degrees
Humidity up to 100%
Work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required
Exposure to chemicals and vaccines used in a Hatchery Process
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment as required for the job as directed by company
