GCIs Marketing Specialist III will participate and support the Marketing Team promoting GCI products and services. Promote a positive relationship assisting with general product and promotional information. Manage internal and external relationships to carefully take each project to market with success from conception to completion. Assigned responsibilities to specific focus area teams:

Business Marketing

The Business Marketing Focus Area functions as a program coordinator for all projects within the business (B2B) marketing group. The role requires a clear communicator, strategic thinker, and creative problem solver who connects all aspects of the business to drive growth and opportunities. A high level of attention to detail and organization is a must in the fast-paced marketing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring effective communication of project status and deliverables to all stakeholders. This role also functions as the lead on various marketing channels.

The ability to create urgency with outside vendors when timelines are critical and have the acumen to develop the critical path to project completion.

Ability to multitask, be flexible to work across multiple points of contact within a global organization, take the lead on scheduling meetings and project kickoffs.

Must be detail-oriented and can work proactively and effectively with multiple priorities under minimal supervision.

Capable of handling multiple projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion.

Experience in marketing project coordination.

Proficient computer skills and MS Office knowledge (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) to complete job duties effectively, such as using the company intranet and to accurately retrieve and input information into database or equivalent.

Experience in marketing project coordination.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks working in a team or independently toward a common goal.

Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well across the organization.

Level Definition

Position Title: Marketing Specialist III

Grade: A09

Additional Job Requirements:

This is an advanced-level position within the marketing specialist team. Considered highly skilled, proficient and conducts complex work assignments under minimal supervision. Must have strong knowledge of marketing initiatives with a clear understanding of the changing business environment and product life cycle, the company’s product line and sales programs. Capable of handling multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion with high standards on follow up, follow through and managing project timelines within budget. Must be detailed oriented and could work proactively and effectively with multiple priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of five (5) years in a customer service, office administrative, or marketing environment.

Preferred:

Experience within a telecommunications customer product line environment.

Associate degree in relevant field.

Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

Experience with marketing automation and project management tools.

Experience with content publishing through online portals, such as WordPress.

Other relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.

Required at ALL Levels

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations throughout Southcentral Alaska.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.

Work entails long periods of time in front of a computer screen and on video calls.

Work entails the ability to maneuver up to 20 pounds.

Work entails dealing with upset customers and/or employees at times.

Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.

Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.

Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.

Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.

Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.

Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.

Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.

The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be requested to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.
