Within it, the Data Analytics team spearheads the creation and management of standard reports for all Abarcans and clients to use! They dig in through the raw data to supply updates for audits, create predictive models, and identify potential operational and clinical opportunities.As our Manager of Trade Relations, you will have day-to-day ownership of Abarca’s relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and will be responsible for negotiating rebate opportunities that provide savings to Abarca’s clients. You will be responsible for analyzing Abarca’s data to formulate strategies around how to engage with pharmaceutical manufacturers. You will also have ownership for rebate modeling, and you will evaluate rebate offers and identify savings opportunities for clients. This position will provide insights around rebate contracts in support of financial analyses, sales initiatives, strategic client meetings, and others. This position will be part of an innovative strategic group that will create our drug value strategies. You will be provided support and autonomy to engineer drug trend solutions that will ultimately help grow a new and pivotal strategic area of Abarca. The fundamentals for the job…Serve as day-to-day relationship owner and contact person for pharmaceutical manufacturersNegotiate and implement rebate agreementsTriage any pharmaceutical manufacturer inquiries and ensure we provide responses in a timely mannerAnalyze Abarca client data to inform rebate negotiation strategy and to identify client savings opportunitiesComplete cost modeling and analysis to determine optimal coverage strategies and to support rebate negotiationWork with legal to revise and execute pharmaceutical manufacturer contractsServe as rebate SME within Abarca in interactions with other teams (including finance, clinical, client engagement, etc.)Provide support during regulatory change management process around regulatory changes impacting rebatesLead the completion of annual rebate RFP and client formulary reviews, which includes financial analysis, opportunity identification, net cost modeling, and responding to inquiriesResearch, compile, and analyze rebate and trending data for internal stakeholders including finance, client account teams, and underwritingManage industry relations analyst(s)Works on high priorities as neededThe bold requirements…Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Business or a closely related field. (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant experience may be considered.)8 years of work experience in a strategic, analytical, or consulting role in healthcare; preferably in health plan or PBM setting.Experience managing challenging conversations and presenting to senior audiences.Demonstrated experience applying project management skills (i.e. project timelines, KPI’s/metric tracking, visualization of results).Ability to drive and take ownership for key strategic initiatives.Advanced excel skills.
