WORK SCHEDULE
Monday – Friday 8 hr day shift
SUMMARY
The Electrical Controls Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the Lettershop as well as other Print Services. The E.C. Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems in support of plant management. The E.C. Technician will be responsible for electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repairs at all levels while the main focus will be on issues of a high degree of difficulty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical incidents
Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems
Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment
Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant procedures, operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records
Assist in operation of plant equipment and systems as directed
Inspect repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries, and work with electrical systems up to and including 410 volts
Participate in plant housekeeping activities as directed
Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on Equipment PLC’s and PC control systems
Maintain all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipment
Fully support and participate in Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs
Perform all tasks qualified to perform due to knowledge, experience, training or license held
Complete other tasks as assigned by plant management
Machine design projects
Existing machine modifications (Electro/Mechanical)
New machine and/or machine component design and installation
Testing of alternative solutions
Automation
Data acquisition and analysis – Use of DMAIC principles to guide improvement priority
Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement projects
Machine software enhancement
Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma preferably from technical based school
Two to Four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Controls Technology
Electrical Engineering experience (Collegiate level to potential co-op/intern opportunities)
Experience in machine design and automation (Collegiate level to potential co-op/intern opportunities)
