The Program Supervisor – Youth Sports will assist in planning, organizing, and operating youth sports programs. The Program Supervisor is responsible for of all aspects of his/her assigned programs. This includes but is not limited to organization, communication, and marketing/promotion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist the Program Director in management of the Basketball Program, including travel basketball, in-house leagues, clinics, and classes.

Organize, plan, and carryout sports classes for a variety of sports and age groups that are both challenging and educational.

Communicate efficiently and effectively in order to ensure parents and families are fully engaged with sports programs.

Coach and teach in accordance with YMCA guidelines and rules of the game.

Uphold, model, teach and put the four (4) core values of the YMCA into action in all activities – everyday: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Maintain good relationship with Students, parents and sports officials.

Maintain professional appearance and report on time to all scheduled practices and games.

Strive to develop the qualities of leadership, initiative and good judgement in all athletes.

Develop habits that promote good health and sound training rules.

Create a positive and nurturing learning environment to instill and encourage youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Adhere to the directions given by the head coach and assist at all times.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with organizing and teaching a variety of youth sports programs

Knowledge of rules and regulations of sports.

Flexible schedule

Certifications: CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification.

Previous experience working with children preferred.

Must be able to demonstrate instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.

Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.

Ability to communicate with parents and families effectively.

SCHEDULE: Tuesday to Friday 2pm-8pm & Saturday 10am-2pm

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions. Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in accordance to instruction. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to instruct and actively observe participants. Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands, stoop, and crouch. Regularly lifts up to 10 – 50 pounds.
