Summary:

The Lead Technician – Traveler will lead a team of field service technicians in operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, power inverters, and substation components.

Requirements:

Mentors and sets positive example for junior technicians.

Collaborates with senior line managers for plant maintenance.

Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.

Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.

Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.

Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.

Utilizes hand tools effectively.

Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Manages site inventory.

Develops and administers site operating procedures.

Develops and implements site safety plans.

Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.

Leads daily tailboards and conducts job hazard analysis (JHA).

Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).

Interfaces with project subcontractors.

Represents RES in professional manner.

Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.

Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.

Presents, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

Qualifications:

High school/GED General education required.

Associate’s Degree related Technical Degree required.

Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.

Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.

Certification Infrared Thermography (any level) preferred.

5 years or more related electrical maintenance experience required.

3 years or more medium voltage electrical work experience required.

2 years or more high voltage electrical work experience required.

2 years or more managing/leading field technicians required.

Intermediate

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Advanced

Low voltage DC power systems

Low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems

Drawings

Theory

OSHA regulations

Hand tools

Equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc)

Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation

Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)

IV curve tracing

ANSI/NETA MTS

SCADA systems

Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from a major airport, preferably Denver, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta.

Functional Competencies Include: Teamwork, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.

Domestic travel 76-100% required.

Valid Driver’s License required.

Anticipated base salary range: $38.46 – $45.19

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
