Softgel Operator III – 2nd Shift

Description:
The Softgel Operator III is responsible for Softgel Operations with respect to Softgel encapsulation machine and Mechanical skill to set and trouble shoot Softgel machine. Work under minimum supervision and required to know Department SOPs and cGMP.
Essential Functions:
- Sets up equipment- Encapsulation Machine including Tumble drying, Drying Tunnel, and Laser Printing Machine, Capsule Sorting Machine, Inspection Belt and any other equipment required for Softgel manufacturing.
- The Machine Operator level is an advanced position where the individual has mastered advanced operation and troubleshooting as well as basic maintenance of a Softgel Encapsulation machine
- Ensures the efficient and quality standards for operation of Softgel machinery. Responsible for all set-ups and changeovers. Provides technical support for staff for equipment and processes.
- Troubleshoots machines as needed during the production run as a priority to minimize downtime
- Performs or verifies batch record entries. Ensures batch records, equipment log books, and other relevant records are up-to-date.
- Monitors process and equipment, making necessary adjustments as needed or required, to maintain batch record specifications. Ensures that the equipment in the department is cleaned properly before start set up of a new lot of product.
- Maintains lubricant level in Softgel Encapsulation Machine. Specializes in the process troubleshooting of Softgel process on Softgel Encapsulation Machine.
- Must be familiar with In-Process Testing Equipments and should be able to test Softgel for seam thickness, Hardness, Burst strength, cell weight etc. using testing equipments to ensure quality production.

Education:
- High School or GED HR Curriculum – Preferred
Experience:
- 5 years or more in With HS/GED Experience in Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing
- 6 years or more in Less than HS/GED proven related experience in Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing environment.
Skills:
- Required to read, write, and communicate in English – Intermediate
- High school level math and mechanical skills – Intermediate
- Flexible to work extended hours when required – Intermediate
- Ability to work as part of a team – Intermediate
- Attention to detail and accuracy – Advanced
Specialized Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Encapsulation machine set up, Operate and trouble shoot. Gelatin and Medicine Preparation.
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.00 to $31.00. Amneal ranges reflect the Companys good faith estimate of base salary that Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting.
