This search is substantively broad. Regardless of substantive focus, we seek a colleague who embraces and amplifies our schools commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, collaborative engagement, and collective liberation. We expect all faculty members to bring a critical social work lens to research that is community-engaged, with real-world impact, that focuses on addressing disparities and working towards justice, and that recognizes systemic issues that underlie complex social problems.

The School of Social Work has an established record of excellence in research and education, strong community engagement and connections, and a rich network of diverse colleagues with complementary and overlapping interests. The school includes the Center on Race and Social Problems CRSP, Research on Innovations in Services and Equity in Mental Health RISE-MH, the Child Welfare Education and Research Program CWERP, and newly-formed faculty-led collaboratives in aging, human flourishing, caregiving, and critically evaluating the role of social work in society.

The School is consistently ranked among the top schools of social work in the nation and is known for its strong educational programs BASW, MSW [COSA and Direct Practice], and Ph.D.. In addition, the School is a leader in community-engaged work and partnerships. Faculty are committed to collaborative relationships across disciplines and with community partners to conduct research that develops and advances innovative approaches to understand, prevent, and ameliorate complex social problems and promote social justice. Our combination of resources, activities, and colleagues within and beyond the School provides an intellectually stimulating and supportive environment. We seek a colleague who is excited by the possibilities of transforming society and will bring expertise and excellence in their substantive sphere to expand the capacity and impact of our diverse intellectual and collaborative community.
