Description
The Maintenance Technician I performs necessary maintenance and repair to all equipment in the Coating Center in order to keep the plant area and equipment fully functional, clean and safe. This includes both electrical and mechanical repairs and maintenance to production and engineering equipment. Maintains stock and spare parts to accomplish the above objective.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs preventive maintenance, general maintenance and repair, including such things as installation of equipment, work tables, tools or other items.
Maintains calibration of measurement and test equipment, including all applicable records.
Follows process instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSPs) and verbal instructions from the Site Operations Manager.
Maintains, records, checklists and log books on maintenance performed and inspections conducted.
Maintains tools and test equipment in a serviceable state.
Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
Fabricates and assembles production fixtures.
Fills out supply request forms to order materials necessary to ensure that all production equipment operates in an efficient manner.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May monitor and adjust chemical baths, safely handle storage and disposal of chemicals.
May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required. Additional post-high school course work or apprenticeship in a technical or mechanical area is preferred. 1 or more years of work experience as a maintenance person in an industrial environment is required.
BASIC SKILLS:
Ability to communicate uncomplicated data, instructions, production results, quality issues, and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.
Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.
Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment.
Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.
Ability to speak, read and write English.
High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
Hands-on familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to calculate basic mathematic functions and formulas. Can calculate ratios, percentages, and fractions.
Uses Excel spreadsheets and can write simple formulas and create spreadsheets.
