Stacker Operator

Job Brief:
The Stacker Operator is one of the most important roles in the facility. They are responsible for final inspection of material prior to it shipping to our customers. In addition to this vital role, the Stacker Operator is accountable for helping the team maintain and set up the production lines to meet customer expectations and production goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Set up equipment for each production order
2. Continuously inspect coated / printed material as it proceeds through the conveyor into the stacker
3. Perform quality checks
– Layout and visual checks
– CuSo4 checks for bare metal
– Coating film weights checks
– Color tolerance
– Cross-hatch adhesion test
– MEK rub test
4. Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarize re-work and waste; inputt data into quality database
5. Alert line operators to identifiable, potential issues
6. Package steel bundle for shipping
7. Maintain a clean and neat work area
8. Complete all production reports accurately and neatly
9. Perform all tasks in a safe manner
10. Help coater operator wash-up coater and set up for next job
11. Inspect/replace all belts and clips
12. Inspect all grease fittings and add grease as needed
13. Help maintenance personnel in the event of a break-down or scheduled maintenance
14. Complete all safety training including “Power Industrial Truck” (PIT) Training Course
15. Gain knowledge of production process forms
16. Perform other tasks as specified by management
Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred
2. Must be able to identify and monitor shifts in color/shading
3. Must have a keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
4. Must be responsible and trustworthy
5. Must be able to read and understand work instructions / quality procedures
6. Must have stamina to stand for long periods of time while visually inspecting material and performing quality checks
7. Must be able to tolerate strong smelling solvents
